WRH40109 CERTIFICATE IV IN HAIRDRESSING
Course Duration: 6 months (21 weeks plus 5 weeks holidays)The Certificate IV in Hairdressing is for students who wish to enhance their skills and extend their career options. You will learn advanced techniques in design, cutting, corrective colour and performing bleach services. You will also have good knowledge of salon safety and good client service skills required to be employed as a highly skilled hairdresser, session stylist or technical expert. To be eligible to study Certificate IV in Hairdressing you need to have completed Certificate III in Hairdressing.
To achieve a Certificate IV in Hairdressing, all 7 core units and 4 elective units must be completed.

Requirements
- Applicants must be 18 years or older
- International students must have an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent
- To gain entry into the Certificate IV in Hairdressing course you must have completed the Certificate III in Hairdressing course. Should you have completed Certificate III in Hairdressing at another Provider and you are wishing to transfer, please check with your current provider if you require a release letter.
Teaching Methods
AHBC students learn the fine art of hairdressing with an exciting mix of face to face and practical sessions and contemporary learning resources that include DVD’s, live demonstrations, lectures, group practice sessions where students apply their new skills on each other, manikins, field trips and real (external ) clients where required. This ensures that our graduates gain a high level of competence and are highly sought after in the hairdressing industry both in Australia and internationally. Students are provided with study guides for each unit and are required to complete a variety of assessments for each unit (written, computer, skills etc).
RPL and RCC
If the candidate has had previous studies or experience in the hairdressing industry, he/she may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competency (RCC). If you wish to apply for RPL or RCC, you are required to submit the RPL application form. Please contact the College for fees and duration etc. Granting RPL or RCC will result in a change in your course duration as international students must be enrolled in full time study.
